North Ossetia

a space of silence and strength

Three days in the mountains of North Ossetia became an unusually clear experience for me. Everything changes fast here: fog hides the valleys, rain washes the sounds away, and then suddenly the sun comes out — warm, sharp, like a flash.

What strikes me most is the calm confidence of the locals. The population is small, but no one is in a hurry to leave for the cities. Their life is simple without being primitive — there is room for work, faith and a long look at the mountains.

Analog color

Color film is the warm reality of Ossetia: ochre of the grass, blue shadows of the mountains, milk of the fog. Living hues a digital camera will never repeat.
